Barry Fishman
Barry Fishman is the President & CEO of Novopharm Limited (the Canadian subsidiary of Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.). Novopharm has been growing over the last three years at a compound annual rate in excess of 15% and is now ranked the 6 th largest pharmaceutical company in Canada with 1300 employees and three production facilities.
Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. is a global Pharmaceutical company specializing in the development, production and marketing of generic and proprietary branded pharmaceuticals as well as active pharmaceutical ingredients. Teva is the largest generic drug company in the world with over 25,000 employees – with Teva products filling more than 1,000,000,000 prescriptions globally each year!
Prior to joining Novopharm, Barry spent three years as President and CEO of Taro Pharmaceuticals Inc. He led Taro’s Canadian operations including over 300 employees in a fully integrated facility, and served on Taro’s Corporate Executive Committee and Canadian Board of Directors.
Before his three years with Taro, Barry spent seventeen years at Eli Lilly Canada where he held a variety of leadership positions in finance, human resources, operations, business development and marketing. His most recent position at Lilly Canada was that of Vice President, Marketing where he was responsible for Canadian marketing efforts for over $250 million in annual sales for new and existing products and was a member of Lilly’s Strategy and Policy Committee.
After graduating from McGill University in Montreal with a concentration in finance and accounting, he went on to become a Certified Public Accountant and was a Senior Accountant at Deloitte in Costa Mesa , California.
Barry is married to Lynda, the Owner of Adventure Valley, a unique Recreation and Event Centre in Thornhill and has three children – Rebecca, Jonathan and Kimberly.
